My Story
Hello my name is Ella Barnsley and I am the founder of Beaux Apparel. I am from beautiful Vancouver Island and I currently live in Ottawa while I attend university. I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. For as long as I can remember I was always anxious about almost everything I did. I started going to therapy when I was 14 and it changed my life for the better. But sadly, I quickly realized that as much as the world has progressed through the acceptance of mental health, actually dealing with it or receiving treatment is still seen by some as a form of weakness. This was really hard for me to wrap my head around because I didn't understand why wanting to work to become the best version of myself and reaching out for help was seen as possibly shameful. This problematic notion is what started my drive towards building a community of supportive, kind, amazing people who lift each other up and want the best for each other. While reminding and remembering that there is nothing shameful, weak or embarrassing about needing help, wanting to better yourself, or make your life easier.
